Back to Basics: Keeping the main thing the main thing

Hope your summer is off to a good start. At our partner schools in Uganda, they are well into Term 2 and the rains have begun.

Recently we have taken a hard look at the work of KFNL from where we started to where we are going. We have had the privilege together with you of being true ChangeMakers for young students. Our Circle of Health & Hygiene has transformed how thousands of young girls see themselves and made education much more attainable for the most vulnerable. Since 2016, we have also participated in a number of special projects – building classrooms, furnishing classrooms with desks and chalkboards, building girls’ dormitories, providing bibles, etc. These projects have been very successful and greatly appreciated but have taken time, energy, and focus from our main mission.

I am at a place in my life where I must simplify.

After prayerful consideration, we have decided that in the future KFNL will focus only on these basics. Our goal is to provide these to the over 3400 students at our 6 partner schools.

It will be a quieter, simpler pace for us that makes it more manageable. I envision sending updates out about twice a year. Just because it is quiet does not mean it is not still vital to the girl-child in rural Uganda. Education is honestly the only hope of a better future for her. These basics allow her dignity and opportunity to reach for her potential. I invite YOU to share in this with your generous giving and with your prayers for the challenges
these kids face.

Thank you for making a tremendous impact in the life of a child.

Walking forward with you,
Watha
